The Influential Factors on Job Satisfactin for Employees of Geriatirc Hospital

Abstract
As geriatric hospital has been changed to urbanization, high-rise and energy saving structure, indoor air pollution increased due to lack of natural ventilation. Not only that, chemical pollution from building material also affects employee``s health. Therefore, this study tries to help employees have more job satisfaction and provide high quality medical service by presenting way of improvement of working environment. To investigate effect between working environment satisfaction according to perception of indoor air quality, environmental attitude, subjective symptoms and job satisfaction, surveys were distributed to employees at geriatric hospitals in Daegu from July 1, 2010 to July 26, 2010. 404 data was analyzed for this study. The results are as follows. 1) descriptive statistics shows that ¡®the importance of air quality among indoor environment variables¡¯ and ¡®regular evaluation in facility environment among environment attitude variables¡¯ ranked the highest ones. The main factor of indoor air quality is ¡®indoor pollutant¡¯, and the main factor of health problem indoor is ¡®particulate matter¡¯. Also, ¡®broadcasting¡¯ is top source of information about indoor air quality pollution. According to descriptive statistics about subjective symptoms experience, general symptom group is most common, and in order of stimulus symptom group, skin symptom group, and respiratory organ symptom group. Concerning season, general symptom group checked that they suffered mostly in summer, and stimulus symptom group, skin symptom group and respiratory organ symptom group mostly suffered in winter. Descriptive statistics in working environment satisfaction shows ¡°light is proper to work¡± is most frequent answer, and in job environment satisfaction shows ¡°I do not feel I am belong to hospital like family member¡± is most frequent answer. 2) the following characteristics of subject tend to have more job satisfaction: women, geriatric care helpers, more ventilation, shorter length of buildings, existence of air cleaning facilities or air-purification plants, and use of eco-friendly products. 3) To find out factor to have int1uence on job satisfaction, multiple regression analysis was used. Subjective symptoms had most influence on job satisfaction.
